I've been in Macau for the last 3days and it was heapsss fun. I probably can't update much at all cos the internet i've been trying to steal at the place im staying doesn't work too well. I hope my USYD enrolment went alright......can someone ask monique for me and get her to send me an email pls?? I don't think she checks blogs that much.
Okay when i get full access to the internet im gonna post up all my happy times here at hk. I think my last post was probably a tad emo cos i was feeling a little distressed about the lack of space here. But it's been real good now. I bought a gazillion clothes in preparation for the daily change of clothes in uni.
My cousins are really cool too. Including me and my sisters, just on my mum's side we've got 17 cousins! I know it's totally wrong to think of your cousins in any way other than with cousinly love but some of them are.....really...really...cool...? Okay i admit, two of them are hot =)

Hectic stuff
Well Im in HK and I havent choked to death from the quite obvious pollution yet. It's kinda shocking how everyone lives. You don't get much time to yourself since there's always ppl everywhere and they always seem to be moving in haste as if though there's somewhere they have to go all the time.
I watched Curious case of Benjamin Button today with 2 of my cousins today, thats one long movie. I walked around....the...APM?..I think thats what it was...basically just a shopping centre =P. I noticed that if you look at actual international brands like Esprit it's not any cheaper than in Aus so i didn't think it was really worth buying those brands here. Im going to go to all those market kinda random brand stores and snag some stuff instead.

Did i mention how scary this place is? It's so shifty...My mum was telling me to stop hanging my bag behind me cos i could get mugged. I was like....what....so she told me to notice how everyone wears their bags towards the front of them.....and its true. Its freaky. Before she let me go off with my cousins, she spent a good 10min teaching me how to use my wallet....literally = ie, "don't put your notes in the same wallet as your coins. Don't keep opening your wallet to get the Octopus card (although i learnt that u can leave it in there and itll still scan). Don't keep looking for things in your bag cos ppl are going to be spying on you and check out where exactly you put your wallet so that they can just steal from you later. Why do you carry everything in just one big bag cos they can slice a hole in the bottom of it and steal everyhing. Separate all your stuff. "
I feel like everywhere I go someone's going to try to mugg me now.

I'm never going to go backpacking or i might just do a Harold Holts. Honestly, I feel like im backpacking right now (minus all the luggage). It does suck in a way but I guess it's an experience. Australia's living conditions seems like paradise right now hahha. Right now my room is a 2x2metre box which i think is really quaint and cute but then when im in the hk streets i somehow feel like im still in a box. Everywhere you go basically is a box. We went past some government housing buildings right and they LITERALLY look like half of a shipping cargo box stacked up all on top of one another.

Transport is also hectic. Getting to one place require taking a bus, changing 4 train lines, and then taking another bus. On the map they looked so close but via all these routes it gives you a headache. I told my mum ill pay for a taxi and she just snubbed me. On the train i saw this 'first class compartment' sign, im going to check out what that is later.
I miss parks. Is this homesickness? Ive been here for 3days...so 30 more to go?
Me and my sisters are apparently living very different lifestyles. Im getting to know the harsh reality of compact boxed living with the rundown facades on buildings and the peeling walls whilst my sisters are going high society style. I have to say...the best place ive been to so far is the hospital where my uncle's been staying....and the staff there are the most well mannered hk ppl i've met so far.
They serve macaroni in Maccas as one of their breakfast menu...=....and theyve got the coolest looking hot chips in KFC.
Ive finally seen my cousins and aunts after 10 longgg years! After all these years of just looking at photos of them, seeing them in person now is like woah..theyre real people!I watched Curious case of Benjamin Button today with 2 of my cousins today, thats one long movie. Hello Winter!
In about 14hrs ill be OUT of Aussieland (assuming that it takes about an hr to get out of aussie airspace).
I've finally started/FINISHED packing! After a whole day's worth of verbal abuse today concerning my disorganised approach to life =D , i started stressing out about my empty suitcase. I spent about 3hrs making sure I had everything i needed INCLUDING the 2 bottles of water that turned out to be a complete waste of my $2 cos they give it to you for free on the plane. No one ever told me about that =(.
I've still got like $40 of phone credit for this month left so I might just go around texting everyone random things tmr. I already sent Monique one worth 4texts so just 40 more of those and ill use up everything!
A Bientot Mes Amis! =)

donc...
Je suis partie le reve.

I can survive on very little food
Yesterday was so fun! Im glad i went cos the ice skating was super fun and then the K, oh the K! I need to learn some asian songs or learn to read chinese..and korean... Even knowing one song would be good. I won't object to K ever again unless its just with my family, then I'll object.
And wow. I found out that ill definately have someone doing Archi with me in first year! Woot! But Im pretty certain that George is probably going to end up doing the combined degree despite his concern that he wont make it in. Pfft to that. OH well! The point is that ill have someone to sit with in my first lecture!
After K, i was on the train home when my sister finally called me and told me that they were at D's 21st and weren't coming back til at least 10. So since i still have no house keys, it was either stand outside the house for 2hrs or go to the party. What a waste of a train ticket cos i ended up going back to Wolli to get to Mortdale for it.
The party was kinda boring. It killed my happy spirit. Pretending to be having fun when you're dead tired is really quite draining.

Jetlag me!
Well there's a complete change of plans now. Screw USYD enrolment =D. I owe Monique a week's worth of lunches.
It's all finalised. I'm off to HK next week! Awesome! So to all the ppl who are going too or are already there, give me your numbers and Ill post mine up when I buy a phone card there. My mum said I can meet up with friends since I've got a wholeeee month to do so.
I don't think I'll go to Japan and Peking with my sisters though since everyone's got their different plans. I'm staying at one of my aunt's place that has wireless internet! Yes, it's that revolutionary. AND they've got one of those maids so i don't have to pretend to want to help with the dishes or anything. Thank god.

Why does it cost nearly $300 just to get a passport?? For all 4 of us, it costed over $1000. Ridiculous. Government and lack of funding? I dont think so.
This morning was pretty crap. I had to wake up at 8.30am (which is crazyyyy early for me nowadays) to get to the immigration department for the passports. I had this crappy stomach ache and to make it worse my eyes started going blurry and i was having some sort of fainting spell. Anyway I drank a cuppa hot chocolate and ate a sandwich and i was fine afterwards. It was good hot chocolate with the whipped sort of milk and chocolate flake topping.

I gave a musical busker my only $1 coin today. He was a really good singer and keyboard player and might I add, he was kinda cute too in the suave sort of way.

Slumdog Millionaire
- I vote movie of the year. So, watch it.
I took the chance to take a tour of the Wilkinson building yesterday at USYD (since it's going to be my home for 5yrs) and its facilities were pretty cool.
So there were these 2 rooms of complete contrast. One was the 'Reverberant' room and the other was...i forget. But the objective of the Reverberant room was to control and direct sound vibrations which was then used for sound recording. The contrasting room however was made up of 1metre thick walls covered in wool. This room absorbed all sound vibrations so that it was deafeningly silent. As soon as you step into this room, you feel like as if though your eardrums are collapsing on itself.

The highlight of my day was probably at Broadway shopping centre where I ate lunch with Annu and Misha and then watched Slumdog Millionaire with a couple others. The funniest thing happened at the foodcourt. We bumped into Louise S who was with her mum and as soon as she turned around I noticed her lip ring. I opened my mouth and Louise rushed forward and whispered 'Shhh my mum thinks it's a sticker'. LOL.

I don't care if i'm contributing to global warming. It would be a bigger sin to the world if I was to melt from the lack of air conditioning.

Its smokin' HOT
Why do all the uni's have their Info Days on the same day?? It's illogical and perhaps the world's worst idea. Because of this idiotic arrangement, I can only go to USYD...which is far far away from everyone else in UNSW.
Another m7 meetup tomorrow then? It's going to be just as steaming tomorrow so I suggest something completely indoors and vacuum-sealed from the evil outdoor elements. So I pick The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button at the nicely air conditoned George St cinema. Im very aware that writing it here is completely pointless so i shall instead continue our chain of mass emails later.

I'm now completely freaked out about engineering. I know nothing about physics. Infact, I'm fairly sure that I failed that part of science in junior years. It's probably why I got a band 5 for it in the SC....unless its cos i just suck at science in general....
It all seems so daunting right now. One part of me is feeling really excited about digging my hands into the depths of architecture whilst the other part is just terrified of stepping into the lecture theatre filled with freaky engineering guys.
It's probably not very hard to notice which course Im leaning towards.

Is it a couch or a sofa?
Look what my phone can do. Sorry about the confusion with my mobile numbers. Im still in limbo between the two.
Speaking of mobiles, I got the strangest call last night/morning at 5am. I couldnt understand too well but from what i gathered the guy's name was A******* **** and he kept saying something on the lines of 'Are you ready'. After about 20secs of me going 'What?', the person started making fake crackling noises and hung up. Wierd or what.

2009
I just slept 8pm - 1.30pm. Yes, that was indeed 17hrs of sleep with a 2secs wake up break at about 5am. I guess that was to make up for the 17hrs spent in the city for New Years and the 36hrs of practically no sleep.
Im still tired. I can't remember what day today is or when's the last time i ate.
